The Stentorphone was produced by H A Gaydon. The Creed telegraph equipment company were active with the Stentorphone public address system in 1919-21. The valve power amplifier had not yet appeared and the Stentorphone allowed gramophone records to be amplified via a sound-box consisting of a comb-valve. A number of Stentorphones were made and used at exhibitions and open-air concerts.
