East Grinstead, is an ancient market town and was the capital of the historic High Weald. From here the Ashdown Forest begins and is where the River Medway rises.
It was here that the famous East Grinstead carol 'Good King Wenceslas' was written, and you can visit the building and take a tour from mid June to mid September each year.
